Voice Emphasis

Hi everyone, I want to get my avatar to put emphasis on specific words in the voiceover but I don’t know how to do it. Anyone got any tips for how to do this?

Tips for Voice Emphasis

There are a few things you can try to help the voice place more emphasis on certain words:

• Capitalise the word you want stressed, for example: “This is REALLY important.”

• Use punctuation deliberately: commas, periods, ellipses or exclamation marks can all affect the pacing and intonation.

• Add a short pause before the key word or phrase to help it stand out more naturally.

• Try rewording the sentence if the emphasis keeps falling in the wrong place. Sometimes a small change to the sentence structure works better than trying to force the original wording.

You can also use speech regeneration to generate a different take of the same script. The voice and wording stay the same, but the timing, rhythm, intonation and emphasis may vary slightly. You can regenerate a full scene or an individual paragraph a few times and keep the version that sounds best.
